The name Double Bond Dog Training reflects my philosophy that the dog-human bond goes both ways and can be one of the strongest relationships we have, just like a chemical double bond.
I will work one-on-one with you and your dog to help improve that bond through training and utilizing my knowledge of dog behavior and complex problem-solving abilities.
At Double Bond Dog Training, I am enthusiastic about helping people form stronger bonds with their dogs. Through thousands of years of domestication, dogs have acquired amazing abilities to read and understand their human companions. I believe that by tapping into that capacity, we can learn to communicate with our dogs and help them become even more wonderful family members.
Using positive reinforcement and operant conditioning methods, I will work with you to develop an individualized plan to address your needs. I will help you learn to communicate with your dog using clicker training, markers, and positive reinforcement. This will address short term issues and provide you with tools and knowledge that you can employ throughout the life of your dog.
Jennifer Jones, Ph.D.
Graced with a lifelong love for dogs (and all animals), I have been training and showing dogs for over 40 years.
I currently compete in rally and herding with my border collies, Floss and Iko. My mixed breed, Selfie, is a touch therapy dog and we visit a special school district early learning center and an elementary school each week.
As a life-long learner I am well versed in dog behavior and learning. I have deep knowledge of different breeds and how their natural instincts and tendencies affect their learning styles. I am a scientist by training and am adept at problem solving; each dog is different, and training is not a one size fits all proposition.
I am a lead trainer with the Greater St. Louis Training Club, a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and am working toward achieving Certification Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed.
I am a member of the St. Louis Herding Club, the Gateway Australian Shepherd Club and am an AKC Farm Dog Certification judge.
Serving primarily Kirkwood, Glendale, Des Peres and Webster Groves in St. Louis County, Missouri.
